AC and Droid Life both report the update rolling out to T-Mobile. DL posted several A/B shots with the New/Old Moto X software and the improvement is significant. Make sure you take a look. The camera is very capable once the software is tweaked. (In case link does not work - http://www.droid-life.com/2013/09/23/moto-x-camera-update-new-vs-old/)

I hope we hear something sooner than later from Verizon. This is a major camera upgrade that will address the only real weakness of the phone and there are a few other fixes too. Unfortunately Verizon is pretty slow on these types of updates. Only time will tell.

Here are the other software updates as reported by AC:
"A software update for the Moto X is rolling out to T-Mobile customers today, and mixed into the list of improvements and bug fixes is some news that most everyone is waiting to hear ? Improved photos (color accuracy, exposure, focus speed). Also listed, and equally important (though not as high profile) are fixes for Moto Assist, "choppy" audio during voice calls and improved Touchless Control. Those are important, and it's great to see them addressed so quickly."

Really liking the Maxx, sans camera ability. Can't wait for the update, predict 1 month to get, sigh...<looking at you Verizon!>

Most likely we will see a update pretty soon... Since this update also patches some security flaws as well. I'd estimate 2 to 3 weeks tops.

Jcase is looking into it he said hold off on taking the update. Which shouldn't be a problem since if your rooted you have no stock recovery to take the update anyway.

It will be interesting to see if they resecure the bootloader. I am not rooting for a while with this phone. Right now the benefits of root just are not there for me.

Jcase is looking into it he said hold off on taking the update. Which shouldn't be a problem since if you're USING RECOVERY BOOT MODE TO TURN WRITE PROTECTION OFF ON /SYSTEM you have no stock recovery to take the update anyway.

however, if you're merely rooted, you still have stock recovery, and unrooting is very easy and flash counter still shows 0/0

What do you mean resecure the boot loader its already locked.

I just meant we may not be able to root the update with the current method. Not a big deal for me right now, but it will be for some.
