My Moto X will not recognize my sim card. My mother is sick and 4hrs away from me. I NEED MY PHONE!!! I'm on Straight Talk and I was trying to get ATT -LTE working on my phone and by changing the mobile network settings and the 2 default settings are gone. Straight Talk site is a joke. They leave out settings my phone needs so I cannot connect. I have tried putting the T-Mobile sim card in that came with the phone and it will not recognize it either. Is this because there are no mobile network settings in my phone currently?

If anyone has Straight Talk ATT LTE settings please post them. The last 2 digits on my sim are NB if that helps.

Re: Please HELP!!!

Its locked to tmobile... If it was bought from or for T-Mobile? I think... If your tmobile service was turned off that may explain why you tmo Sim won't work

I got the GSM Unlocked version. It came with a T-Mobile sim card for free.

Re: Please HELP!!!

Thanks but what are the rest of the settings. Like I said in my OP everything is gone, even the default settings.
My phone keeps showing, in the notification bar, a picture of the sim card with a red circle and line through it. I've tried a few of my friends active sim cards just to make sure my account wasnt messed up and none work.

It wont even let me save apn settings either...Whats wrong?

Re: Please HELP!!!

Hit the + sign and it will create a new APN.
use all the settings that are there except the ones that are mentioned above.
in the upper right hand corner is a symbol which when tapped will give the option to save.
if need be I can put all the settings up but if you can't save them it would be for naught..

Re: Please HELP!!!

Yea, I think I give up on this phone. A friend is letting me borrow his phone for now so I can check up on my mom...

Re: Please HELP!!!

If you seeing that red Sim icon then the phone might not be detecting the Sim card at all.

Always check hardware first. Does the sim you're trying to use work in a different phone?

hello every body,
please I have the same Moto X and the same problem as this man. Please how did you found solution to that problem?
thanks

I now have this problem, too. Mine occurred when switching SIM cards, so it could be a mechanical issue, and not correctable through resetting the phone; however, I tend to think that this may be some sort of security issue, even though I'm using the unlocked 2014 Pure version (XT1095) of this phone.

If others are like me, changing the APN is not an option because Cellular Network Settings are not available when the SIM card isn't recognized. I'll continue to pursue this issue, and post my findings.
