Moto X Play Camera Samples

Re: Think I just hit 100%

Glad they showed there wherewithal to include some low light shots

I need more low lights to be convinced. My OG Moto X took awesome daytime photos. It was SEVERELY lacking in low light. Those looks pretty good but I want to see outdoors in low light, neon lights, concerts, crap like that. Soon... very soon lol I'll my wish.

Daytime though, this thing is on point.

Re: Think I just hit 100%

Yeah, I am waiting for some more low light shots with concerts, etc. But, I am very encouraged by this - am starting to be in the market for a new phone. Hate hate hate the Samsung and LG skins and bloat. Normally an HTC gal, but if this phone really does deliver on the photos then I think this will be the one.

Re: Think I just hit 100%

My main issue would be can it capture images of an active child or not, otherwise the camera is no good because that smile or moment is long gone before the smartphone camera can capture it. For the first three years I relied on my SLR, now the smartphone is okay to capture decent pics of my kid. Other than that criteria, I do think that the Moto X camera is pretty good.

Re: Think I just hit 100%

Guy with the photos obviously has a reviewer phone. Embargo will probably be lifted next Wed night.

Pretty sure that's the Moto X Play, which is available for purchase already in Europe (but uses the same sensor as the X Style). Still, this looks good for the X Style, which should have a better image processor.

Re: Motorola's New Camera Samples

The Verge is usually quite hard on Android cameras, so I'm impressed if they say it's good. I'm looking g forward to (hopefully) buying one next week!

"Next week." That sounds so good.

And Canada I think.

Re: Think I just hit 100%

Wow!

That's all I can say. That's probably the best camera effort Motorola has done in a long while and while the lack of OIS might not make it as good as the one on the S6/Note 5 and LG G4, for $299 ($399 for the X Pure), that's a really good camera and far better than anything Motorola has ever done.

WELL DONE!

BTW, does anyone know what sensor Motorola is using on the X Pure and Play?
