moto x play facing wifi battery drainage issue after 6.0 marshmallow update

Factory reset solved everything here. It was a first factory reset here from 5.1.1 :) WiFi always on, everything in networking and position at factory settings. Android 6.0.1

It seems like a random thing... In my case I got the 6.0.1 update, and the wifi drain started after a factory reset a week ago, because Skype was DEVOURING my battery (litteraly, like 30% and I was not even logged in!!).

Now, I did all this, but my wifi is still top of the list and the usage bar shows continuous activity:

1) Turn Wi-fi off when I'm not at home (duh...)
2) Settings > Wi-fi > ... > advanced > Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep > only when connected
3) Settings > Location > ... > Look for wi-fi networks (or something like that) > off

I'll perform a new factory reset and see what happens...

I only registered here just to tell you my experience... Don't need to say nothing, just see the pic.

So a few apps don't like having location for GPS only. Can't believe this bug isn't fixed yet. Time to look for a custom rom I think.

Hi folks,

Have been following the thread about battery draining in the Moto x style. I did everything except factory reset. However notice the following in the battery usage screen. Can someone explain what are those android symbols followed by 10140, 10001 and 10119 indicate? They are consuming 18,11 & 5% of the battery respectively. I am unable to force stop them as the button is de-highlighted.

Welcome to the forums. Usually those processes refer to apps that were uninstalled recently. Is that your case? They should disappear after the next full charge.

Voila!! Thanks Javier, I noticed that after the full charge there is no fresh data available as yet. Hopefully now, the battery life would have improved. Will keep us posted
