Holy crap. 0/10 would buy.

Never underestimate the buying power of fanboys. This goes for Apple, Samsung, HTC, etc. Phones, game consoles, televisions, etc.

Specs are still leaving a lot to be desired. However until the fat lady sings and we got full reviews I will hold my better judgement on this device. I understand specs are not everything however its still an important part of the phone. Coming from the HTC One M7 it will be an upgrade to a point. If the price is right in a few months I might bite.

True, but I don't think it will sell millions like the 16GB because of its higher price.

Of course not. That's true about anything though.

Does any one know what the model number of the Moto X 2nd Gen is??? Trying to locate a replacement display/digi for a client.

Thanks for any info.

The size is a big turnoff for me, which is a shame because I love what Moto did this year overall.

Personally, I think Moto's data collectors have no idea what they're doing. Most people are buying larger phones because all of the premium phones are larger phones! There are no mid-sized premium phones to see if people would go for them.

Motorola's "researchers" also said that the reason why they didn't put an SD card slot on the Moto X was because their research suggested most people ended up uploading things to the Cloud. Well, if you don't give them an SD card slot, what other choice is there? To me, it seems that their research and data collection methodology is way off.

Idk, their research seems to fit my usage. I don't have any need for an SD card, and most people I have talked to don't either. My only complaint about my OG MotoX was it's size. It was just way too small for a flagship phone. I'm loving the size of my new moto x.

There will always be whiners that whine about screen sizes getting to big. When the smallest phones are the size of the 2014 Moto X they will be complaining about the 5.5 inch phones. Here's a thought for all those people: don't buy the phone if you don't like how big it is. No one wants to hear you complain about EVERY big phone that gets released.

Since I'm still using my 2013 Moto X, the SD card issue isn't a deal-breaker, but if I had to pick between SD storage and cloud-based storage, I would pick the SD card. Server-based storage is ridiculously insecure. It's "convenient" I guess, but I use ways around that which are far more secure.

The point I was trying to make was that if companies don't give people options, they can't study the results and reach a meaningful conclusion. If you have a prisoner locked in your basement, and only feed him dog food, an observer shouldn't come to the conclusion that he must LOVE dog food.

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus seem to suggest that people DO prefer bigger phones, but again, results are inconclusive. Were increased sales just because of the "new iPhones" hype like every other year? Why did the smaller of the two new iPhone models sell better? Who knows for sure.... But rumor has it that Apple will be releasing a 4" phone next year along with the larger phones. If they are all similarly spec'ed, that would give us a great indicator as to what people really prefer.
