Moto X: Strange notification sound

Yes, I have also suffered from this sound for 2 long days. Then finally I left my all job, sat in my room and started searching for all option and u can go like this
1. Check all the apps where u can set limits or condition which will promt notification
2. Give special emphasise to all new apps,uninstall it if u feel not necessary.
3. Check for NFC to be turned off

U would be trolled by what I found to be my reason of notification.
It was a ******* Sim Tracker app. I uninstalled it and sound gone.

It is NFC trying to read data.
So go to settings > wireless and network > more > turn of ur automatic NFC option.

Had the same notification "Bong" happening all of a sudden. Found out it was from my Plantronics bluetooth app when I turned of that apps notifications it went away. Note that I didn't show that I had the app. Had to reload the app to turn the notification off. BTW, Plantronics' tech support was great.

I had same issue with my g5s it's was the NFC reading my oyster card in my phone case took it out and it stopped

I too have a doorbell sound and it scares the crap out of me. Not expecting that sound. No new apps.

What is NFC?

Got the same sound - most irritating. Solved problem by uninstalling an app: Show Battery Percentage from Mobitop.
