Moto X Verizon 13 hour battery

I think this fix is for the first batch of moto x's. You may have been lucky and got a second but I'm getting much better battery life after the supposed update he did.

So here is the screen shot. I posted another comment about what the update is but it is NOT the camera update. It just fixes some wake lock/idle drain issues. Most Verizon phones block it so you have to do it in store apparently.View attachment 85149

That's no different than mine and I bought mine the day it was released and have received no updates (other than the standalone app updates).

Hmm well if you guys are not experiencing battery life issues than maybe yours came with it but for anyone experiencing battery life problems take it to Verizon and ask. Can't 100% confirm the update except for the fact I am now getting over 24 hours of battery life under the same usage. Again to the disbelievers, if you are there, I will post screen shots tonight.

To show a point about how your phone's settings can affect partial wakelocks. The first pic is with my device letting my facebook and google apps run rampant, along with having dial pad touch tones, touch sounds, screen lock sounds, vibrate on touch and wifi/mobile network location all enabled. The last screen shot of my partial wake locks is with all of that stuff turned off and using Greenify to hibernate crap that frankly doesn't need to be running for no reason. (I don't need facebook going nuts for no reason along with Currents, G+, etc and I can live with it taking a couple of extra seconds for a few apps to open). It's hardly scientific making so many changes at once, but I just wanted to show that one way makes my device look like there's serious crap going wrong and I should just wipe and delete everything. Make a few quick changes makes it look completely different (and you can see it in the battery life department).

I should note that this is with a VZW Galaxy Nexus running a Hyperion battery and not a Moto X.

So, for fun I decided to turn all the stuff on in the below pics. I know this is only a 2.5 hour time span (I rebooted), but look at the difference a few settings make in how much time your device will spend awake. I rest my case.

Pay less attention to battery drain because I did spend about an hour and a half out running a couple of errands on 4G. Your settings matter, in my opinion, more than any apps (provided you have a solid way to keep them reigned in, in my case, Greenify).

Anyone using the Verizon moto x make sure to change your network to LTE/CDMA.

Settings>more>mobile networks>network mode>LTE/CDMA.

This should help limit which bands it scans for.
