I moved from an N5 to a G3 in November for the bigger screen and better camera. It's worked out for a while but the lag is killing me, so much so I'm actually back on my N5 and wondering why I ever changed. I'm trying to find a middle ground where I can get a close to stock feel with good performance and of course a decent camera. I'm think the Moto X 2014 would be a good way to go without shelling out insane money for the N6 that is really just that bit to big.

Just wondering what people thought or whether moving from the G3 would be apples for apples.

Thanks guys.

A friend of mine just got a G3 on Verizon. The camera is noticeably better, everything else I much prefer the Moto. But unless your jonezin' for the Moto specific features... it's kind of a sidegrade.

I did exactly as you did. I have to tell that G3 with CM12 or even with stock lollipop is totally different than original firmware. Problem with CM12 is that the camera is far from good, problem with stock lollipop is that is not as snappy as pure android. If you can overcome one of these 2 problems, i would stand with G3. I finally couldn't and I sold my G3 to get a MotoX. So far so good very happy, better memory management and performance in general, when i have to take a "good photo" I miss my G3 so bad.

If you're looking for a phone with a decent camera then I'm afraid the moto x 2014 isn't for you
