Just purchased a Moto Z Droid with 32GB CD Card. I want to upgrade to a 128GB CD Card but the memory is set to "internal shared"(or adaptive). Can I replace the CD Card and change to "portable" memory without starting from scratch? What would be the proper procedure for this change? I am concerned that I will lose my new applications and the associated data.

Memory = RAM, you're talking about storage. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the SD card has to be reformatted to be changed from adaptive to external storage, or vice versa.

Just copy out the data you want saved to your computer and then replace the card and copy back the data to the new card. You may lose some applications depending on where they were written (internal storage or SD card), but you can just re-download them again from Google Play store.

Make sure to format the new card as portable storage.
