Moto Z2 Play experience vs. DT2?

Has anyone moved to the Verizon Moto Z2 Play (not Force) from the DT2? Curious to hear comparisons on battery and camera, in particular.

I'm considering making this move, frustrated with my on 6 month old DT2 now extremely short battery, sudden shutdowns at 30-40%, lag and sluggishness (all this even after a factory reset a few weeks back).

Not so interested in Moto Z2 Force Edition, too pricey for extra features and reportedly lower battery life vs. Z2 Play.

Just wondering if you heard from anyone. I'm also thinking of moving from Moto DT2 to Z2 Play, but want to make sure it is not a "step down."

Contrary to what I wrote last September, above, I wound up better understanding Z2 Force advantages and bought it instead of Z2 Play. Love it and haven't looked back, see this post for why I've loved it: https://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=866326&p=6150091&viewfull=1#post6150091

I don't know what deals and promotions are offered on Z2 Play vs. Z2 Force at moment, but IMO the Z2 Force's high end specs should keep it running well for a couple years. That said, if Z3 equivalent is IP68 waterproof, I'll probably jump to that this year.
