Here is the new camera's night mode(no flash) compared to previous models. All setting are on auto with flash disabled.

I'm surprised there still isn't a Moto Z4 section here under the Motorola Phones category.

I just ordered my new Z4 from Verizon. As was rumored, they offered it for $299 online if you have an upgrade available or a new line. I'll take a brand new phone for $299. I will pick it up in store later today.

Thanks for the heads up. At $299 this is a no brainer for me.

You're welcome. I believe that $299 price is for online orders only though, and then you can pick up in a store or have it shipped. And of course it's not true $299......it will be $299 at the end of all payments once the monthly bill discount kicks in. I'm not sure what the in store price is.

I played with it again in Best Buy and it was meh. Unless the camera is shown to be superior to the Z3 there's not much difference. Some smaller bezels and a stretched screen. If Black Friday brings it to $5-10 a month I might reconsider.

Since I have the Google camera port on the Z3 I do have improved low light shots as compared to the stock camera app

$240 from Best Buy without being stuck with monthly bill credits is tempting. Of course Verizon charges a $40 upgrade fee which is pure profit for them.

That "upgrade fee" is ridiculous. They used to waive it for me....but not anymore

I took the plunge. But I used the device payment plan but put a large amount down. They are not monthly credits so once I pay it off I get my upgrade back.

The camera is significantly better than the Z3, especially with the right Gcam port versus that port for the Z3.

None of the photos used a flash.

The first photo is the Z4 with the Gcam port and night sight. . Zoom in to the face of the dog on each photo and see the difference The second is the Z4 with night vision on the Moto camera app.
The third is the Z3 Moto app. The fourth is the Z3 Gcam port with night sight. I haven't tried outdoor photos yet.

I will say directly compared that the Z3 is a little faster opening most apps and I'm sure better at graphics intensive games. The extra screen real estate isn't that significant. I feel fairly certain battery life will be better with the Z4 as reviews have indicated. Moto voice is gone which is unfortunate but it was clear Moto was phasing it out.

If people have any questions I'm happy to respond. I've only had the Z4 for one day and have taken no photos outside.

I understand why they removed Moto Voice as a whole, but man I wish they would have left Talk To Me (including Driving Mode) as a separate Moto App feature.

I know. It's a huge loss. Also the in display fingerprint scanner has been complete trash for me so I'm not using it all. Maybe an update can help with that but I'm not holding my breath.

There is a lengthy discussion about the FPS on the Moto Forum also. I setup three fingerprints last Thursday and fortunately have had no issues, no failed reads.

A weird bug I've noticed. After restarting the phone the screen color profile is much more saturated even though the setting itself has not changed. After toggling the setting it goes back to before.
