Just a question. Do you guys think will be able to download the Moto apps to the nexus 6? It is a moto phone..definite buy if that were the case.

Isn't a Nexus device supposed to be PURE Android? If you start adding features from a specific company, it's no longer "pure", as I understand it.

For instance, the GPE phones that Google offers from other companies have all of their "bells and whistles" removed. So, I would be surprised if it ends up getting the Moto Suite of features.

But then again, who knows? I've been quite surprised by the release of this Nexus 6 device. They're doing a lot of things differently this time around, so maybe they'll add some of those features after all and keep changing things up.

Moto could just add them to the play store much like HTC does it with it's own features.

They won't have it, part of the reason is because it's a developer device. Motorola could make some of their apps in the Playstore compatible with it, but Google is the one handling the software, so I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

I'm wondering the same thing. I want the nexus 6 but if it doesn't have moto apps, then I'm going droid turbo. Which im still undecided on the huge size of the nexus 6 so that is also a factor until I see them in store. I think my dream phone is a 5.5 nexus 6 with moto software so I love both, it will be a hard decision.

The Moto Software Suite is exclusive to Moto phones only right now. Until those features make it into a stock Android build, it will not be in a Nexus (out of the box anyways).

The OP's question is whether or not we'll be able to download the Moto apps to use on the Nexus...not if they will come loaded on the Nexus.

I would be surprised if the Moto apps weren't, at some point, compatible with the Nexus 6. It is a Motorola device after all.

All good posts. I just wonder cause I've read that the moto suite apps are on the play store for updates. So it is a possiblity to download then if Motorola/Google allows it which I hope.

the gpe devices still have some bells and whistles. it is stock android with a modified kernel. so some stuff remains.

Doubt it. You don't get the Motorola apps officially on the GPe Moto G. I don't see why the Nexus 6 would.

Android L already makes some features possible - like the phone turning on when you pick it up, always listening etc.
Some other features depend on hw sensors the phone probably doesnt have.
Things like Moto Display can be done on any AMOLED screen with AcDisplay.

In the end a lot of this can be emulated, I very much doubt we'll get the actual Moto apps.
