Motorola Droid Turbo: Bugs, quirks, problems and more

Re: Motorola Droid Turbo: Bugs, quirks, problems and more - Hotspot not working

I've seen this on a bunch of different forums, but didn't see it here yet. Many people (including myself) are reporting that the wifi hotspot feature is not working. When you try to enable it give a message that your order could not be processes and you need to subscribe to Mobile Hotspot. I called verizion. They verified I have mobile hotspot in my share everything plan. Then got me to second level support who finally put in a ticket to engineering. We'll wait to see what they say.

A 30 day free trial subscription to Advanced Visual Voice mail is included. I was told that at or near the end of the trial period you will have to specifically say you want to continue and you will then be charged monthly for it.

So you got your new Droid Turbo and you have found a bug, quirk or problem with it. Go ahead and share and try to be as descriptive as possible w/screenshots to help others out in identifying and possibly coming up with a solution.
Only negative I've seen so far is the volume rocker and sleep button need a little more "click" to them because I have trouble figuring out which I'm hitting and if it's even registering. Other than that seems to work great.

Hmm just tried mine and it works .

I actually just started a thread about this. I have the 64GB ballistic nylon and the back is making a creaking/click sound when I press in certain areas...as if it's separating. You can actually feel a little space between the back and the body of the phone in those areas. The more I think about this the more I think I need to head in for an exchange....sigh...

Nooo! That's the same issue The Maxx had! Say it ain't so.

Edit: I had two Droid Maxx's that creaked liked an old staircase. However, my Turbo feels very solid at the moment, and showing no sign on it. /crossesfingers

Re: Motorola Droid Turbo: Bugs, quirks, problems and more - Hotspot not working

I had the exact same problem. The Verizon store let me activate 3 Turbos, two 64 GB models and a 32 GB, and all of them had a problem with the Mobile Hotspot feature. There was one 32 GB sample model on the showroom that could do it. The store manager and two separate tech support people were not able to solve the issue. Seems like a promising phone but I am back to my old Droid RAZR M for the time being.

Mine did the same thing last night. I ended up exiting the app and going into it again. It then told me that since it was a new device they were suspending my Share card, and gave me a link to the web page where I could re-activate it. After I did that, it took about ten minutes for the card to show up again in the Softcard Wallet app.
I having the same issue with Softcard on my Turbo. Just keep getting a spinning circle with the message "softcard is reloading". i called vzw tech and they told me that they need to put me in touch with softcard tech support ... then they gave me 800.922.0204 ... which is number to vzw tech support (i thought ... this is not good). i didn't realize it at the time because i was use to calling #611. Next I decided to login into softcard website to check on my softcard account. After I logged in, at the top of the screen a message is posted in large font that reads .... "Your Softcard™ is Currently Not Available. We are not able to retrieve your Softcard state at this moment. Please check back later or contact your wireless service provider customer care. " i'm going to call vzw tech support again to see what they can do. I used softcard (isis) a lot in the past and really enjoyed the $1 back on all purchases.

I have 4 alarms set and if I am using the phone when its time for the alarm to go off, I can't turn it off. Waving, side buttons, pop ups, drop down do not allow me to shut it off. The only way is to go to the home screen, select the alarms and turn the alarm off and back on if you want it to work in the future.

I've also found that my exchange icon isn't showing the count of unread emails after a day of use. It was and now its not.

Anyone else have trouble reconnecting to Bluetooth? Or is it just me?

"OK Google" Detection from ANY SCREEN does not work on my new TURBO. In Google Now settings I select "from any screen" and it takes me to a screen where I should be able to repeat "OK Google" 3 times but it acts like it does not hear me. Thus, OK Google does not work on my Turbo. Any ideas/solutions?
Thanks,
Rob

Yes set up voice in the Moto suite app, either in your app drawer, or settings / Moto

I assume you are using the stock alarm app. With the screen off, the alarm app opens on my phone when the alarm goes off. I am also able to turn it off with a wave. I wish it had ascending volume as an option.

On the countdown timer the app opens when the time expires, but a wave will not silence the notification sound. While I can change the notification sound in the alarms I can't find that option in the countdown timer. Does that option also not exist?

I like my other alarm app, but it's a battery hog.

Edit: Just discovered that waving on an alarm only snoozes it, it doesn't turn it off. You have to dismiss it.

I have an issue with my Turbo, which was handed to me at the Verizon store already set-up on Thursday. My Google contacts are not syncing at all. Google Account Settings reports that "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly" and displays "Sync error" under my Google account name. Within the sync settings, however, it has a check-mark and recent sync-date next to every service, including "People details."

I tried removing my Google account from the phone and restoring it, but it didn't work. Any other suggestions?

I'm hoping this is just an issue/bug with my phone, but service is not good.
My cell service is mainly at 2 bars at home, and WiFi is awful. It's only full if I'm right next to the router. Down a bar if I'm one room away, 2 bars if I'm further.

You should check to see if you are in Global Mode. Go to Setting - More... - Mobile Network - Preferred Network Type. Helps my Droid Maxx Signal. If that does not help them you might have to replace your sim card

I am having issues with droid zap. I keep getting "Unfortunately, Droid Zap has stopped working" as soon as it opens. I have tried disabling/enabling the app and clearing the cache but it keeps doing the same thing. I also unplugged the Chromecast in the room in case it was related to that but didn't help either. Any ideas?

Anyone know how to disable visual voicemail. I dont use it and dont wish to. I dont see anything in the all app list to disable. Thank you in advance.
You need to go to your account management page on verizonwireless.com and change back to standard voice mail. You can't change in the app on the phone.

I have noticed a color difference in the lower right corner of the screen. At first I thought it was a difference on an entire side, but after rotating the screen with keyboard up a bunch it seems like the keys that are in that physical corner are always a "warmer, tannish gray" compared to the dark, slate "cool" gray of the rest of the keyboard.

I loaded the Antutu video test that has the different patterns to test screen colors etc, and I def. think i see a difference from corner to corner, if not left to right the whole way...

Girlfriend thinks I'm crazy...will the store reps? I returned my first unit today because my battery was draining unusually fast--like 18 hrs on a full charge with moderate use. Now this unit has a good battery but bad screen?

ZtO

I'm also thinking I'm seeing a color difference in the top first quarter of the screen. I'm thinking it's a little warmer, and I can especially see it when browsing the Internet. Going to give it a few more days before I decide whether or not to have Verizon replace it.

Just came from the Droid Maxx and its default home screen was always the center one.

Is there any way on the Turbo to do the same? As of now the left-most screen is the default when I press the home key.
