Question Motorola Edge 20 pro does not recognise fingerprints anymore

Hello,

From one moment to the next, my Motorola Edge 20 pro (XT2153-1, Android 13, build number T1RAS33.55-115-10-1) no longer recognises fingerprints. I can neither unlock it by fingerprint nor open any apps via it.

The strange thing is that I can add new fingerprints. But they are still not recognised when I unlock the phone.

The phone simply doesn't react when I put my finger on it to unlock it.

Even if I store the fingerprint in an app to unlock it, it is not recognised.

Does anyone have any idea why this is?

Welcome to Android Central! You've already cleaned the Power button/sensor fully? Also, see if it works better if you moisten your fingertip first.

Yes, I wiped it with a moist tissue.
hm, I've never had problems with the sensor.

I've now re-added 2 fingers again. Curiously it kinda works with my index finger now, but my thunb, wich I use more often, hardly works at all

Try cleaning the sensor with some rubbing alcohol, in case there's any residue buildup on there that plain water wouldn't be enough for.
