Motorola forgot password

Recently i tried to set a new password, but i forgot the password so i need to hard reset my phone. Usually this goes through the normal recovery. But a time ago i tried to install a custom recovery. but that failed so everytime i try to start up the recovery its says it cant load the kernel and it i need to use the softwaire repait assistant (what idk why doesnt work). So i have no recovery and i cant come in my phone. What do i need to do?

Hello!
I would try logging into your Google Account on a PC and then go to Android Device Manager (https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager). From there you can setup a new password and GPS/Locate your device.

doesnt work :-(, it says i already have a password its for setting a passowrd not changing
