Finally got my Motorola Xoom installed.

Its on a pivoting mount and it connects to an amp under the passenger seat. Volume control via knob installed by the emergency brake (which you can see in one of the photos).

The mount is a Padholdr(http://padholdr.com/), and I had a local shop (http://www.benchmarkmotoring.com/) fabricate the Xoom dock into the mount for both power & audio.

Looks good, that mount isn't as bulky as it looks on the companies website.

3800scpowered and myself built custom car mounts for our Xooms if you wanna check them out.

No vibration issues at all.

This install replaced my old car pc (windows xp computer under the passenger seat with 7" retractable touchscreen in the dash specifically designed for in-car use) and it is much more stable. The old screen would rattle from the car just idling. This setup is silent.

@Live2ride883... I saw both of your installs, I wish I was as handy as you two! Awesome jobs.

Thanks all.

buurin,

How did you install the mount? What exactly was there prior to you installing the mount? A screen / blank panel / radio, etc?

I saw a video on youtube of a guy who mounted an ipad with two clingos.

Thanks, the hardest parts for mine was attatching the desk top dock to the bottom of the pocket, and get the front of the dock out far enough to clear the dash. In my Rodeo the radio is recessed into the dash.

Depending on the position of the sun and what direction I am travelling the glare can get pretty bad. Once I get a couple days off work I may see about relocating it to reduce the glare. I have a few ideas but I just need the time to work on them.

Holy crap that is awesome!!! This making me wish I had the Xoom!!!! Great job on this.

If you wouldn't mind me asking. What was the cost of the audio company fabbing the mount for you? Just want to know a decent price range so if I were to go somewhere to ask them I wouldn't get screwed into paying more than its worth. The install looks sick though!!

hdmi

Where you able to port the hdmi to other screens in car by maybe using a convertor? You should think about selling these you did a great job.

Yeah I did that with mine. Its just as convenient and super simple. Not as pretty of course but works very well.

The mount is available at www.padholdr.com, the desktop dock you can get at bb etc I think it was 59.99. The rest would be installation fees.

Anyone that doe something like this should be mindful of the airbags. If the airbag fires it will turn anything that's not securely bolted down into a projectile. Many passenger side airbags puff out into the middle where you'd likely mount stuff like this.

You think that's good, check this out, this is how we do it 'round here.

That's my NC, tied to my Gramin GPS window mount with kite string. As horrible as it looks, it actually works aside form having the string running over the screen.

Actually looking at one of the mounts from Ram Mounts.
