You need to let it go, its very likely gonna happen. Im sure some stuff have been photshopped like the UI and stuff, but i think the device is very real. They need to polish it up though. Its too plain looking.

Jasper if you want good news then know that the Targa aka Bionic is supposedly a much better piece of equipment than the now defunct Bionic was.

Hump or no-hump; I'm surprised how much people are drooling over how the Bionic looks. When I first saw it, I thought it looked rather plain and boring...I am not an iPhone lover at all, but it is beautifully elegant, as is the Samsung Galaxy 2. I'm not crazy about the rounded ends and plastic look - don't get me wrong, I can't wait for it to come out so I can buy one, but good looks, it ain't. 
*sucks it up* fine, I surrender.... :'( I just watched the 23 min htc sensation vid. It looks prettt decent but wasn't all I imagined spec wise....
I just want to know when this next-gen phone is coming out??? I gave my wife my Droid X 2months ago (which I absolutely loved) for her OG Droid ( which I absolutely hate) because her NE2 was up. I was orginally expecting to get the Thunderbolt but then all of the complaints of battery issues turned me away from that, and I realized that I actually liked Motorola products. So I'm just waiting with an old, slow, small, heavy phone waiting for Verizon to make an announcement on their plans...

You guys do realize the hump was to allow the phone to be thinner but notvhave to sacrifice camera quality right?
In my experience, the camera on the Droid X wasn't that great in the first place.

Call me crazy but I loved the looks of the original Bionic.
While the Targa looks pretty good, it does so until you see the hideous hump on the back. Total dealbreaker for me.
While specs are important so are the aesthetics. I mean what's the point of a top notch speced out phone if it looks like $#!+. Totally bummed out about the "change" in form factor.
Everyone who loved the original design of the Bionic has been mourning for a few days now.
Wouldnt it be funny if everyone was wrong and they released the Bionic on May 12 anyways? WOuld shock the hell out of me.
Hmm...not sure how I feel about this.
While the form factor is important to me (I HATE the TB's kickstand as much as the X's "hump") it's the front screen that I fell in love with.
As long as THAT doesn't change..then I'll be happy!
The insides are what initially got me, though.
I'll be curious to see how this turns out!

At this point, I just want a release date. I dont care what the phone looks like, as long as it works. It may overheat, but heck, my Droid 1 overheats, and even my wife's DX gets a little hot when shes doing stuff on it. As long as the phone works, thats almost good enough for me. Now, bring on the release date.....

For some of us that have the DX. The hump is not a problem. It felt comfortable in my hands. it just felt natural. So the hump is not a big deal for me. Maybe you should go to your local Verizon store and mess around with the DX see how it feels in your hands. Does it feel comfortable or not. Then make your decision.
Its not really that its uncomfortable as it is ugly. Mind you the Targa hump looks wayyy ebtter than the DX hump. But i also just dont understand the design choice. Why would you have something sticking out more than the rest of the body? If you put it in your pocket, the hump can either poke into your leg, or if the other way stick out more than the rest of the body, and also have more chances of breaking.
I more than most strongly dislike the look of the DX and Targa. However, if this is the phone that moto is pushing I don't think I will have a choice of a better phone. I am not going to switch providers so our choices are going to be very limited.
I don't see the HTC Sensation coming to Verizon, I don't want and Iphone, and I am not sure that the GS2 will ever make it to Verizon either or that it will be any better than the Bionic in whatever form the Bionic takes.
I have to believe that if they are seriously going to release the Bionic to the Public its going to look either just like the Bionic or just like the Targa with minor differences. I would venture to say its to late in the game to come up with something totally different than either of those and still hit the June time frame.

I kinda like the ugly in your face pretty little un-iPhone lines Motorola incorporates in their phones. Love industrial nuances. That is one thing I loved about by droid, industrious design. Totally understandable how people don't like that design too. I admit, I also like the pretty little iphone design too.....I must be a phone whoro!
Agree johnly with the hard lines of the moto droid but then again I love the look of the original Hummer.
I love hard angles and an industrial look but unlike you I do NOT like the look of the iPhone. Its too pretty for my taste : )
