very well put. also, just because you sign up w/ unlimited 4g doesnt mean they cant change it on you. it is in their contract that they can change the terms of the contract at anytime with notice in writing and you can at that time opt out if you like.

I know they can change it if they let you opt out, but its highly unlikely they would. I'm still on the $15 Vpak with unlimited data/v-cast on my Versa, and its long-gone. They tend to let you keep whatever features your current plan has as long as you don't change it, often even with a device upgrade. I'm almost certain that there will be grandfathering, and my reasoning is thus. If they change it, they HAVE to allow the opt-out, which a large number of people will likely go for unless this tiered thing offers something like 5GB for 25$, which is not likely. And I can assure you that a significant customer exodus does NOT look good on your quarterly statement.

As reported by droidlife, the enhancements to the device have begun. So we will most likely see a totally different device with the Bionic name.

Yes you can do a Google search to find it if you dig for it but it is a cached version of the old Bionic spot.
So looks I was right about them removing the page, they just hadn't got around to it yet when I first noticed it, haha. But seriously, if the page is gone, I'm guessing that means we will in fact see a slightly different form factor, possibly a different SoC as well. I'd love to see OMAP4, considering it matches the Tegra 2 in most every way, beating it with NEON support, and it seems that the PowerVR SGX540 is more powerful than GeForce ULP as well. I'm assuming anyway, considering that LG uses Tegra2 for the Optimus 2x but steps it up to the OMAP4 for the 3D. And I can't imagine it won't have 1gb LPDDR2 by then as well.
I'd love to see a better screen as well, but I'm not exactly holding my breath. What I really want to see is this thing launching no later than June, or at least before unlimited goes away. I've been holding out since last fall, still stuck on an LG Versa that I bought a month before the 1st Droid launched...

That appears old. It's dated Jan. 5, 2011. The day before CES where it was originally announced officially.
Very likely a mistake.
The first paragraph is old, from Jan 5th. But the 2nd is the new one. Or else they wouldnt refer to it as the "new" Bionic.

I think it is a type o. Why would they say New Droid Bionic? And remember The Mediacenter fact page had the Specs and now this page is that page is showing. Ignore the Date and look at the 2nd paragraph..

This is exciting news, I only hope they hurry up and announce something. I'm still sticking with my theory that VZW won't want to switch to tiered plans until all 4 LTE devices have had some time on the market, or at least a launch, but that could be just wishful thinking. I'm really excited to see what they do, but once I see a solid cut-off date for unlimited data, I'm buying whatever I think is best that's already out. MOTO will lose out on a TON of sales if they don't get this out before then, I for one would just grab a Charge, which should keep me happy until at least this time next year. I'm really getting impatient, but I'm still willing to wait if there's a good chance I can get this with unlimited data.
One of the changes though definitely needs to be axing that "End of Waiting" motto.
