Maybe this will gain sticky status. I am hoping y'all will post up any tricks or tips you have to make this device have a better user experience without having to flash a custom ROM. I'll note that I did unlock the bootloader and root the device, but I don't want to flash a custom ROM on this phone. I want to use the stock ROM.

One feature I loaded up immediately was an app called Battery Percent Enabler. It puts the battery percentage in the battery icon, which you cant do without.

I am certainly missing some features I carried on my OnePlus One running Exodus. But, I am going to do my best to learn to live without in this stock Android. The one feature I immediately had to fix was the hotspot. By default it doesn't work (at least on ATT Unlimited Data), so I corrected that, and all is well there.

If you are rooted, Greenify is a great app for keeping unwanted stuff from running in the foreground without actually removing / freezing it.

I haven't rooted my Moto X yet (wanna keep the warranty for now), but on all my previous phones it worked like a charm! You can use it without root as well, but is severely crippled and definitely not worth it.

Also, xPosed is really nice if you are rooted, and various modules will allow you a great deal of customization that you may be used to on custom ROMs. I personally like GravityBox when I had it installed.
