I got a micro sd card adapter and with this was able to copy the contents of my sd card to my PC.
Have tried doing the scan that pops up when I put the card in. "Automatically fix file system errors" is checked but "scan for and attempt to fix recovery of bad sectors" is not. So I try the first one and get a message that it's read only so it won't do anything.
I want to try removing the write protection (Vista machine) and so I find these instructions and the middle instruction is the one I *think* I need:
How to Enable or Disable Write Protection on Removable Media (System Administration Guide: Devices and File Systems)
However, I don't know where to enter the info nor do I know what to input for device name. It also appears this will reformat the sd card and I was hoping to just remove the write protection and see if that fixes the problem.
If that isn't an option it's my understanding I must format as Fat32? Is there anything else I need to know? After reformatting I *should* just be able to copy my stuff back to the sc card, right?
