Mounting SD card, even when I say no

Whenever I plug my EVO into my MacBook, it always mounts the SD card, even when I set the phone to charge only. Thus, whenever I use the MacBook as a charging station, I cannot hear my phone ring, as my ringtones are on my SD card. Is there a way to correct this error?

Do you have Double Twist installed? It may not apply to you, but on a PC if you have Double twist set to "Auto USB drive" that's exactly what happens. Uncheck the box & you oughta be hunky dorey.

Cross platform errors, who'd-a-thunk.

Actually the same thing happens on the PC. Whenever the phone is attached to usb on a computer, the sdcard is unavailable to the phone even if only charging. There is no way to disable it as far as I can tell.

Hey all,

I had this problem too.. It drove me crazy, because I would charge my phone on my mac pro and when done charging, I'd disconnect the phone and my mac would pop up an error message about disconnecting the drive improperly. Sometimes it would seem like my phone wouldn't register that it was disconnected and would be stuck in usb drive mode, so I had no access to the sd card until I rebooted the phone.

Tried various things but never could figure out what was causing it. I finally went to the settings/privacy and did the factory reset and it works properly now. Maybe some app was causing the problem? Now its working great.

Mine does this all the time. I just swipe down, select "Charge only" and hit "Done" and it dismounts it.

I use my MB all the time and my iMac as well. I've never had it happen but just drag the drive to your macs trash to unmount it and your card should re-mount?

Not the ideal solution but may help until you figure out why it is doing that.

I'm having this same issue. It's really annoying although easy to fix. I just drop the notification menu down and just reselect charge only.

For those using Windows, go to My Computer, right click on the drive icon and choose eject.

Or as stated, just open the notification menu on the Evo and reselect charging only. I need to do this everytime I connect my phone to the USB port.

Just as Burt Reynolds mentioned above, doubletwist could be the culprit. The mobile version of doubletwist has the same option as the PC version, go into setting and uncheck auto usb
