move ringtone to internal memory

I have custom ringtones- Problem is when phone is charging, SD card is not available and the phone is silent.

1. Is there a work around?
2. Can I put the ringtones on the phone's memory?

I tried to paste to sound to system/media/audio/ringtones but get message file system is read only

Why wouldn't the SD Card be Available?

I do not have this issue... thats just odd

If you're charging it with a computer are you hitting just charge? I've never heard of the SD card not being available while charging.

Are you sure you don't have it set to Disk Drive when plugged to a usb?

This could be the Issue...

Connect to PC could be set to Disk drive

I've never heard of the SD card not being available while charging.

I do charge on pc- and

I wrote too soon-- i just tried again on charge only and the it worked fine

I hate when I jump the gun.

Is there a way to move it? There's actually a big reason to move it to the phone.
1) Would like to retain ringtone if SD card is removed
2) If I tether or mount Android, it doesn't use SD ringtone
3) There's a delay between the call and when the ringtone's supposed to play

Yes there is, but you have to be rooted. Using either a file manager like "Root Explorer" or by means of ADB copy your desired ringtones to the following location in the phone's memory:

/system/media/audio/ringtones/
