Moved to iOS

Had the iPhone 8plus and X. The pixel 2 xl and Galaxy so plus easily made it through the day better than apples devices for me. I gotuch better battery life and SOT than those devices. Everyone's usage is different though.

It will really depend on your usage pattern. If you use your phone a fair amount, the Pixel XL2 will outlast the iPhone 10 handily, and also the 8+. If on the other hand you're not using it much, the iPhone's standby time is insanely good and it will win. SOT time just search YouTube for comparisons. All of them that I've seen show the Pixel XL, the Samsung S9+, and the OnePlus 5t outlasting the iPhone for SOT.

This is it right here. Considering I have taken to heart Andrew's piece on using your phone less, this makes me appreciate my iPhone even more, since its standby time is just ridiculously awesome. But I also agree that it won't outlast a Pixel 2 XL if you are using them the same with the screen on, although certain tests I have seen, it gives the 2XL a good run for its money. No doubt it will beat the baby pixel 2.

I use both Android and IOS on a daily basis and don't see a fluid difference that makes me go one way or the other. The gap between systems has narrowed and there are much better reasons to choose one over the other.

Four months in. Feels like I won’t go back to android anytime soon. iPhone X is so addictive despite iOS restrictions. Other than the pixel 2 camera I don’t miss anything.

I still using Android and IOS. For me IOS is just for work so it's just functional for calls and email. I do use it to FaceTime with my daughter but that's about it. Android is just so much more flexible and I use the Pixel launcher.

I'm now using Android and iOS as well. I had the X since launch day and loved it. I bought the Pixel 2 XL last week and it's now my daily driver. iOS is lacking in many ways, but nothing beats its simplicity and efficiency.

If I had to choose, I'd go with Android (coming from a hardcore Apple fan :P)

Gonna put the iOS 12 Beta on my iPhone SE to see if notifications are fixed.

I am using iOS12 beta in my IPX and it has been stable pretty much from beta 1, it also makes the IPX experience slightly better.

I still prefer android overall but in truth Apple would not have to add much to tip the balance back and there is no doubt that apps and 3rd party apps in particular still feel slicker on an iPhone.

Also IMO the IPX has the best in the hand feel of any phone I have used, it just feels lovely and also so comfortable.

Wow! That’s kind of shocking that you’d say go with Android. I’ve been on the back and forth roller coaster for so long, but I still can’t make up my mind as to which one I prefer.

I'm quite surprised myself hahaha!
I still use my iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac daily though.

Yes I do. I use my X strictly for work. 90% of the time I'll be using my Pixel.

I’ve loved using iOS for the past couple of years, but I just don’t see the premium in it anymore. They make great products, but they’re not worth 2-3 times the price of similar Android phones, to me. When I can get an Android device with a Snapdragon 845, a smartwatch, and a Chromebook for less than an iPhone X, I just don’t see where it makes sense to use iOS anymore.

I have used both a lot, for a long time I was only Apple and wouldn’t touch Apple. Then spent some time with windows phone (the best of the mobile os but sadly Microsoft are...Microsoft and killed it) before trying android. I would not go back to iOS now. I see it’s advantages the key being it’s security and ease of updates, I don’t agree that iOS is simpler, it once was sure, not now, it’s also not more stable, it is frankly mental at times, iOS 12 may fix that.

For android through the live widgets, the launchers, native group email!, always on display, notification led, all of these things give me a device that I can actually use to do stuff, a device that doesn’t sit blank when I have notifications and happen to miss a vibrate or noise, but it has a few different ways to let me know. For me an iPhone is an expensive toy lacking key functionality to do stuff.

Personally I love using both ecosystems which have their pros and cons, main thing is I use services which are cross platform and works in both platforms. I frequently switch between iPhone and my various Android phones as daily driver. Luckily I'm not dependent on iMessage nor do my friends/family so I'm good there as well and not locked into one ecosystem for reasons like that.

I’m a flip flopper and go back and forth. One week on the pixel2 next week on the iphone7. Using ios12 on the iPhone as it is quite smooth and battery is outstanding.
Both being set up for what I need in my day to day that switching is a seamless experience. I just like having the variety.

Update after a few months:

Still very happy with iPhone X. I was surprised myself - I thought I’ll definitely get bored of iOS by now.
Mainly because everything just works and how good the phone feels in my hand. Also it’s the perfect size for me. Only thing I miss is the pixel2 or Lumia 95 camera and ok google.
I don’t think I’ll be Coming back to android anytime soon. May be if pixel 3 looks really good, aesthetically.

Different strokes for different folks. My wife has the iPX and there is nothing about that phone that entices me, not the OS, build, look or camera. It's BORING and just another iPhone but hey that's just me.
