Ok guys, first off, I LOVE my Thunderbolt, coming from an iPhone 3gs, im digging the UI and personalization on this guy. Quick question, im a huge tv guy,so I was wondering is there any way I can download some tv shows and put them onto my TB. I am looking at putting either The Walking Dead or Spartacus onto my TB. If so it would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows any website. Also, what format can android phones play. Thanks guys, in advance

I'm pretty sure that telling where to illegally obtain the shows is against site policy.

I use MP4 format for video. There are many good programs to convert. Depending on whether you are on Mac or PC, google AVI to MP4 or DVD to MP4. There are quite a few good, free options on Mac.

Or just leave them as avi or divx etc and download rockplayer to play. (after you've dragged the files onto the phones SD card)

There is an approved app in the Android market called 'TV Shows Stream'

There is a free and a pay version

Just an observation... I was able to watch full episodes of current tv shows on the network web sites via the browser when trying out the phone in the store. I am an Android noob, so that may be common knowledge and not apply to your situation, but for others like me, it may be nice to know.

I haven't tried it but you could purchase TV shows on iTunes and then load it on your phone, I guess. As far as I know iTunes videos are in mp4 format. And of course, there are torrent sites or other filehosting sites where you can download tv shows (and other files) but those are not legal.

Then there's an app TV.com that you can find on the Market. You can watch (streaming videos) of full episodes of some of the shows. Some channels only offer clips which is a downer.

I use Act1 video player on my android phones. It plays almost all kinds of video formats.

I personally second the suggestion of the app Tv Shows Stream. It works exceptionally good over 4G and even is watchable over 3g. They have many tv series, catalogued by seasons. Catching up on my "Wonder Years" now...

None of these seem to be playing back the 720p files. Bummer...encoding here we come. Super then?

I will try it out. TV.com has full episodes for CBS shows only.

I just watched a full episode of The Office on cbs.com! It was so clear! Excited!

I really want Netflix now!

There's an app in the market that lets you stream tv shows. Forgot the name though but a search should work.

Interesting that I can't find Justin tv Viewer application in market anymore?

nero has a crappy program that can use cuda to encode.

There's another one too but I can't remember the name of it.

My wife and I use NetFlix so stuff we don't want to watch together we rip to droid sized versions and store on our NAS and drop them on our SD cards when we want to watch them.

We use DVD Catalyst Free for Droid but I think the only difference in those free versions is the output video is exactly matched to the different phone screen sizes. Works great!

I use Playon to stream Netflix and Hulu, and use Jetflicks as well. Love both solutions.
