Moving Apps to SD Card

Yes..go to settings, then applications, then manage applications. Once there tap the app and most should have an option to move to media. Not all apps are moveable.....but most are.

Oops on the instructions a little. Once you get to the application tap media area. Then you can move them

Why would anybody do this? There's tons of room on the phone for apps. I can't run out of space if I try my hardest.

You could if you take lots of hd pics and video. Also if you're like me, a person who has a two hour commute, who likes likes his own music then space would be an issue.

Unfortunately, when I got to Manage Applications and move them to the Media Area, they are only moved to the Internal Storage, even though I have a 32 GB SD card installed. I have over 12 GB of music and photos on there, so I have plenty of room for apps, but I can't seem to get them moved over to the SD card (if this is possible).

Been wondering how to move apps to my 32g card for a while now also unfortunately to no avail come on where are all the smart androidians i'm pretty sure webOS Internals wouldve had this figured out already

After getting to Manage Application tap Media Area at the top of screen. You will then see a list of all apps with an option to tap a check. Tap the check and then you will be given am option to move to media area.

If its already in the media area how do u move it to the EXTERNAL SD CARD is the issue thanks not yelling just trying to make it clear

Look at an app called App2SD. I believe thats what your looking for. Once you use that app you will see that the above method has done what the app says it can do. Moving to the media area is the same as external sd card.

No I do run App2SD and it only moves it to the media area on the phone because when I move apps over to it the space on my external sd card does not diminish only the space in the media area does.

You also need to take in account that most apps are relatively small. So if you are comparing moving mb to gigs.....you won't see the sd card availability move as much. The app App2SD will relect the availability. Also .....just a thought....are the issues with the memory due to cached memory? I had an issue with running of ram and found an app that was a resource hog. Deleted that app...can't remember the app name...and everything was fine.

No memory issues just a preference my wife has an EvoShift and uses App2SD and when she moves the apps to sd that's where they go as for my MoPho I have well over 150 apps installed and the only number that diminishes is the media area its gone from 7.5something gb to now its 5.18gb the external sd has not moved from 29.66 since the day I installed it.

Most if not all new phones have a partion dedicated to all apps some where over 1gb. The need to move apps to SD card is old school android and so many folks are reluctant to evolve with new set ups..

RAM596.....ok i do see the issue and considering what moosc has mentioned his explanation seems more plausible. I dont think Android figured someone would use sooo many apps. 1gig of partioned space for app would let anyone have at least 80-100 decent size apps....but 150.

Exactly, and its not reluctance just a preference and not old school either this is my first android device coming from a day one palm pre which I loved more than I like to admit lol but I've come to love my MoPho still love webOS though and please don't judge me on the amount of apps I keep lol I get bored very easily so the more apps I have the less bored I get

Yeah i know what you mean. Still have my launch day Pre- and loved that phone...rather OS. But the MoPho is a mofo....i'm liking it more more everyday. Gonna get a lapdock here once i get out of the Christmas Red.

Absolutely loved webOS QI I still don't even want to even look at rooting but maybe someday thanks for the link i'll check it out tomorrow.

I seem to be having an issue with an app resource hog. I don't have many apps (30 or so) but my internal memory is nearly full. Anyway to determine which one? In the meantime, I'm having no luck using APP2SD. It only moves apps to my internal memory. It does not recognize that I have an SD card.
