I need to verify that I am handling this correctly. I unlocked and rooted to 4.0.4 IMM30B build and I want to move to the new 4.0.4 release. I have read through several forum threads and I'm a bit confused. I've seen links to a 4.0.4 build but it mentions an assumption of moving from 4.0.2 and that a change to newer radios is needed. Is there a single build that will move me from one 4.0.4 to the other? I've only unlocked and rooted once to move from 4.0.2 to 4.0.4 I can follow steps, but it bugs me that I am following what to do, but not sure why I'm doing it. Guess I will keep learning.

Thanks in advance.

Well you have a few options.

You can update without root and without unlocking - it's a bit complicated, but there is a method, and you won't wipe your data. Possibly have to go back to 4.02 for this method, i dont remember off the top of my head.

You can unlock, and apply the update, which is a little less complicated which wipes data. You can relock when you're finished. I think you have to go back to 4.02 for this method.

You can unlock and root/apply a rooted version of the update, which will leave you rooted/unlocked when you're finished. Just need unlocked, or unlocked with root, for this method.

Which do you want to do, and we can point you in the right direction.

Option 3 please - apply rooted version of the update. - Thanks

Thanks, I was close to doing that combination but thought I had better double check. I have never updated radios separately, are they updated through the same process in CWM?

Ahh, saw the link in zero neck's signature

yeah you can get the radios in the thread below [radios], they're applied in cwm the same way but with radios just wipe cache and dalvik (not data), and check md5 to be safe.

instructions are in there.

glad that worked out for ya

I would like the opportunity to attempt number 1, where should I look?

if Im already rooted 4.0.4 imm30b with radios and bootloader and want to upgrade using option3 above, can i just dowload the rom linked above and go or do I need to revert back to 4.0.2 and start over?

To install that version, your bootloader needs to be unlocked and you need clockworkmod recovery flashed (so either you need root or after you unlock the bootlaoder you apply recovery to flash the rom).

this is the link to the rom thread: (root enabled update package): http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...-4-04-official-imm76k-update.html#post1755214

and in the stickies in this forum there are guides to unlocking/rooting if you aren't currently unlocked an all that.
