Moving in from PreCentral, er, I mean webOS nation

Been on PreCentral/webOS nation for quite some time (since the original Pre), picked up a Galaxy Relay 4G few days ago. Looking for some pointers to get Touchstone modded on it, so I can carry on with the migration from my Pre 3.

Anyone point me in the right direction on where I can post about this phone? Bit confused since it's T-Mobile but it's actually a keyboarded and non-rugged cousin of the AT&T Rugby Pro which is in turn the lower res, rugged version of the AT&T/Rogers S3. Did a search and it seems like it's not much mentioned around here.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums! I took a quick look around and didn't see any how-to's for a Touchstone mod on the Galaxy Relay 4G. I did, however, come across your other thread on XDA. Be careful on what you alter, since an error can have negative results and possibly leave you a non-useable (brick) device.

Let us know if you have further questions.

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, I know nothing about modding, but just wanted to say hello.

I agree with magnus that you should be careful what you alter on the device.

Well, actually it's going back to the store. Even before I started modding it, it developed problems, kept randomly shutting down and zero-ing out my files on the SD card in the process. I thought it was my card(s) but turns out it was the phone itself. All I did was a root and debloat, even going back to stock didn't help.

I'm actually wondering if it's the same thing with the S3, heard a lot of SD card issues with that. The Relay is a distant cousin of the i747 S3, they share the same dual-core Krait with only difference is the lack of LTE.

Looks like my venture into Android is a bit short, back on my Pre 3. My TouchPad runs CM9 though. :D

My friend and I (along with a ton of other people here) developed random "SD Card unexpectedly removed" errors on our Note II. This started off harmless and at times needed a phone reboot but it became such a big issue it corrupted our cards and fried them completely. Samsung and Verizon from my experience will not acknowledge this issue and say it's the SD Card causing this and not their phone. Trust me when I say this isn't true and we're just getting the run around.

Aaaand... I'm back again. Pre 3 finally went up in smoke with WhatsApp so I was forced to leave. Had a BlackBerry Classic for a year, and sold that to get my BlackBerry Priv.

Welcome back!

I'm sure you'll find that Android is a lot different from how it was the last time you used it. 😊

Hello Tony, welcome back to the forums at Android Central!

It took you long enough!
Even with all my love for WebOS, I went full time Android user, at least on my phone choice, back in September 2011 when I got the Motorola Photon.
I kept using my PalmPad until I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7".
Although I kept using my beloved Palm Prē from time to time on WiFi.
Just because gestures and real multitasking.

Welcome to the AC Forums! Sorry you had issues with your first phone, but you got a Priv now! That's a very good phone, too! :)
