So here's the situation,
I have a duraforce pro and my mom, who I share a Verizon plan w/, wants to move to Spectrum as she has that in her house and its cheaper.
She's getting an Galaxy S8 (as that's the oldest phone they accept in their byod program. My phone they don't accept.
Is it going to be a problem if I activate my sim card in her phone and then move it over to the duraforce pro? They are both using nano sims.

Thanks for any help on this.

Isn't her SIM already active? What are you using now in your duraforce pro?

I guess I'm not clear on what you're trying to do but a Verizon SIM should be able to be swapped in.

The phone the OP has is not on the list of supported devices for Spectrum Mobile even though it supports Verizon, on which Spectrum Mobile runs. The OP would like to activate a SIM card in his mom's new phone, which is on the support list for that carrier, then swap it in to his phone, effectively tricking the system to get his preferred device active.

I think we are missing, or confused about this, "I have a duraforce pro and my mom, who I share a Verizon plan w/, wants to move to Spectrum as she has that in her house and its cheaper."

Another words we are both sharing a Verizon plan.
She would like us to switch to Spectrum mobile.
Spectrum only accepts a few phones on their "BringYourOwnDevise" program and mine is not on it.
She's going to get a phone that is on their BYOD program.
I want to keep the phone I have and just switch over to their sim card.
They will send us some cards.

I was hoping to activate my card (that they send us) in her new phone and then just move it to my phone. Both phones use nano simple cards.

Have you confirmed that your CDMA phones will work with tmobile, using GSM? I'm unaware of such a phone.
P. S. If GSM, your plan would most likely work, depending on your os version.

I guess the part that I dont understand although you may have a valid reason is why do you need her card when you already have one since you are sharing the plan? Are you using a different phone at the moment?

I don't need her card, i would get my own by telling Spectrum that I have a phone that I don't. Because when we switch to Spectrum from Verizon, Spectrum won't give me a card for the phone I have.

Thank you so much for getting what I'm saying! I didn't think I was that unclear.

Now I understand.....I thought you were staying on Verizon and she was going to Spectrum based on your original post. I dont know for sure if it will work because I'm not familiar with Spectrum. There must be a reason they dont want it on their network.

The confusing part is that spectrum won't activate a Pixel 2xl, even a Verizon one, but they WILL activate a Galaxy s8?

I don't know if the idea of tricking them will work, I'd be curious to know.

The last time I checked they seem to allow mostly some Samsungs and IPhones. And even the IPhones are new as of last spring.

I don't understand the nuances but have heard of people doing it on Comcast's system. I was hoping to find some phone rebels that had experience in this sort if things.

There's not much real difference between the Pixel unlocked or carrier branded anyway except a locked boot loader, but yeah it's weird that they limit the devices they allow you to activate.

My point was that the service runs on the Verizon network yet they won't let you activate a Verizon branded device running the latest os and security patches.
