MP3s skipping after the 2.2 update

I updated to 2.2 late last night and this morning I noticed that the stock mp3 player skips whenever there's 3G or wireless network traffic (newsrob downloading articles, downloading apps from the market, etc). This is with playing mp3s loaded on the phone, not streamed from another source.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I did a factory reset (and formatted my SD card at the same time). The problem is a little better, but the mp3 player still doesn't perform well when there's any significant 3G or WiFi use.

I also tried another player - doubletwist. It still skips heavily when there's any kind of traffic.

At least I'm not totally alone.

I did discover today that it's not necessarily network traffic that makes it skip - I got the same behavior when creating folders with Astro and moving some file around - mp3s skipped while the processor was doing other things.
