I know that due to security chips that Samsung got rid of MST on the S21s. My question is, will the MST in my Gear S3 Frontier still work if I replace my Note 10+ with an S21 Ultra?

To actually answer your question, yes, the MST in your watch should work as normal.

Samsung got rid of MST because they are cheap and to cut costs. My Note 20 MST works just fine still. It works everywhere

Lol, I have seen situations where Gpay works better. For some reason on my Note 20, at Chevron gas station if I try to pay at pump that has built in nfc, Samsung pay fails 75% of the time where as if I use Gpay it works 99% of the time..wierd.

Yes, the watch has it built in.

I just got my husband the latest Galaxy watch and traded in the Gear S3 he was using which was my 1st smart watch. I use the Active 2. But anyway he uses Google Pay anyway now I use SP but not a lot to where it matters I guess the no SD card was worse for me than no MST. But I'll try it on the new phone at the couple places I used it at and if it doesn't work I can always go to Google Pay which I used to use way back. I've never used my watch to pay when I had the Galaxy Watchn always my phone.

Looks like MST, (Magnetic Secure Transmission), depends on your location according to this report from xda developers...

[h=1]Samsung kills MST: the US Galaxy S21 won’t support Samsung Pay’s best payment method[/h]
The U.K., Ireland, The Netherlands, Poland, Russia and India are among those that will still feature MST.

I have a A51 5g as a backup. So I'll just jeep that in the car and use it when I'm going to a store I know doesn't have NFC terminals.

You know when in a time and point you have to ditch a feature and just move forward?

Headphone jack, IR blaster, removable battery, headphones, brick.

It sucks but we cant live in the past forever. Well some people can and will.

But y'all dont carry a wallet?

I don't. Of course I carry my license and an all purpose card to use, but I don't really like bulky wallets so I leave it at home.

My Wallet and my watch, I don't (can't) leave home without them. ;)

Carry a wallet - now that is really living in the past.

Where do you put your cards and licence?

They do have slim wallets or card holders.

I always carry my wallet, i like to feel that its there.

In the top pocket of my jeans. Makes for a nice holder for 2 or 3 cards. I know slim wallets exist (have been considering getting a ridge wallet). I'm just not really a traditional wallet type of person. Use to use cases with card holders in the back for years as I also find it more convenient as well than lugging around a wallet.

You forgot a few more "features" that will be leaving soon that we'll have to just accept, like a cable with the phone (everyone has one of those laying around right?), a sim tray ejection tool (if you don't have one of those any sharp object should work right?), and anything else in the box except the phone itself. Then they'll look at more ways to cut costs on the phone (cheaper hardware anyone? And maybe remove even more unnecessary "features" from the phone?)... and of course continue to trim down customer support to increase profits even more, because who needs all these folks helping customers, when customers can just wait (we have all the time in the world right? ;) ).

The amount (if any) they reduce the price by, will nowhere near equal all the things that will be taken away.... that's how business works. The only thing that changes that is market pressure... basically drawing a line in the sand, and saying I won't buy this product anymore until something changes.

I guess the billion dollar question is where's everyone's line?
