Considering that, unless the server you're downloading is very close (topographically on the net, not necessarily geographically) you're probably never going to exceed a 2mbps download for at least a year, that's impressive, but how many streams can you run on a phone at once? Your connection can support 12 2mbps streams at a time. (In your house, with 5 people downloading files while they're streaming movies, you need the bandwidth, but on a phone 5mbps is faster than the internet itself.)
It's not all about streaming. There are times that having high speed comes in handy. Yesterday, I needed to download a Windows image file from MIrcosoft while I was helping a friend with her computer. Her home internet was very slow, and would have taken 3 hours to download the 3.8 gb file. Instead, I downloaded the file from my phone, and it only took around 20 minutes. T-Mobile's speedy network (combined with unlimited data) came in handy.
