I'm a past Droid X/X2 user and I loved!! the multi touch keyboard that Motorola made. Is there apk out there that is compatible with the Galaxy Nexus? I'm not digging the stock ICS keyboard along with its lag.

I dislike the stock keyboard as well I don't think the multi touch would work unless made to work.. I'm still wondering about better keyboard the keys are nice and large

Icecream sandwich has a multitouch jeyboard. Just for reference. All Android.phones since 2.2 that support multitoucu use multitouch in the stock keyboard. They work different than motorolas varient though.

Does anyone know a better keyboard than the stock? Stock is great its amazing actually but the keys are a little small.

I've been using "Smart Keyboard Pro" for a couple years now. It works fine on the Galaxy Nexus and has tons of customizable features, including skins and setting the height of the keys. The other thing I really like and haven't seen in a lot of other keyboards is the ability to have your own custom "autotext" entries - this lets you create shortcuts for typing frequent things and for fixing capitalization. For example, I can create autotexts so when i type "sig" it inserts my full signature, "myphone" inserts my cell number, "asap" gets fixed to "ASAP", "bc" becomes "because", etc.

It can be found in the Market here and there is a trial version if you want to try it before shelling out $2.99 for the full version. FYI, I'm not associated with the product except as a satisfied customer.

Swiftkey's keys are bigger. I used it all of the time on my incredible. And the X2 keyboard was ported to 2.2 roms a while back, but never got ported to 2.3 so I doubt it'll ever make it to 4.0.

If it's just the lag that's bothering you, go into language/input settings and uncheck spelling correction. For whatever reason, it seems to help and doesn't actually stop spelling corrections/errors. No idea what spelling correction even does on that menu screen...but someone posted this here or somewhere else as a tip and it works.

I'm using swype and swiftkey on mine. Swype works only in portrait mode, however. Swiftkey is so good at anticipating and predicting that I seldom need to type a full word. Much better than the stock keyboard.

I like swiftkey accept you can't predictive text in searches and some other specialized windows. TouchPal is good but it screws up a OK spacing and if you back space on s word the suggestion goes away.

OK better keyboard 8 works with a few minor bugs. Honestly it is the only keyboard that I can use because the keys are larger than they fit from edge to edge I wish I knew how to program in Android though

I'm using slideIT keyboard right now, one of the 10 cent apps. It works pretty good similar to swype. I have the ics skin on it so it looks almost like stock. It will get me by until swype is fully and officially supported

I've had zero lag with Thumb keyboard and it has more layout options and themes than most.

My only issues with SwiftKey are: the keys are small (thin) and the silly pull down notification to select an input. But that's an ics issue I believe
