Multiple Chromecast Integration?

So, I have two Chromecast devices (one 1st Generation, one 2nd Generation).

When I ask Google Home to play a video "on the TV" it will only play on my 2nd Generation unit (the first one I linked).

Is this something Google Home is not capable of doing yet or is it because it can't be cast to a 1st Generation unit?

Thank you.

I have no issue casting to a gen 1 CC. But if you are expected it to cast to both simultaneously, it is not supported. Only CCA devices can be grouped.

No, not both simultaneously, but how can I pick which one I want?

I've named them each independently, but when I asked it to play or play on my kitchen TV, it defaulted to my family room TV.

My experience with GH is it is not a good idea to have the same word in the name of different devices. The reason for this is that GH groups devices by kind.

For instance, if I have two lights named 'island left' and 'island right', saying 'turn on island lights' will turn them both on.

Lose the redundant 'TV' in the names and I think you'll be ok.

I understand, but it says you have to specify that you want it played on a "TV" - or am I wrong?

And, each device is called either "Family Room" or "Kitchen."

OK, it works. You just have to say, "Play [whatever] video in kitchen." and it will play the video there. You might have to play around with it a little.

You can play videos on multiple TVs simultaneously.

This is also a great way to play whatever songs you want without having a YouTube Red account.

You can play videos on multiple TVs simultaneously.

You can cast a stream to one device, and then cast another stream to another device, but you can NOT cast the same stream to 2 or more devices (a group).

I have 3. Just say the Chromecast name. Play on living room. Play on bedroom. Works great.
