Music app closes when I play a video? Grr

If I'm listening to music and start to watch a video in the web browser, music should PAUSE (which it only sometimes does btw), not completely close the music app altogether. Wtf!? I want to be able to swipe down from top of screen and just hit play, why does it go away :'(
