Music app force closing...GRRR!

Well i'm officially bummed. My phone and I are in a fight. I can no longer listen to music in order to effectively ignore the people in this dreadful office. Upon opening the "Music" application, it force closes right away. Help? :'(

list of tries:

-battery pull
-try pulling the memory card and opening it without the card.
-try a different card
-force close the app (menu-settings-applications-running-click the music app-and quit it)
-worst case scenario back up all the data and do a factory reset(as an absolute last resort.)
