Hi all this is my first post here so here it goes. I`m looking for a good easy to use music app for my Galaxy S8 that I have. Not looking for one that streams music just one that will import my music songs that are in sepperate music folders by artists on my desktop. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks: Tom

Hi, welcome to AC!

Have you looked into Spotify,YouTube premium,Samsung music apps?

Welcome to Android Central! When you say you want to import your songs on your desktop, do you mean that your music files are on your desktop computer's hard drive, and you want to copy them to the phone? If so, it's probably easiest to connect the phone via USB to the PC and use Windows File Explorer to copy the music files to the phone's /Music directory.

PowerAmp has been one of the most popular (and powerful) music players around, so give that a try.

I also think Poweramp is ideal, as long as you have all your music files on your phone.

Poweramp is fantastic and worth the price. I've used it exclusively since my old Nexus 5 for locally stored music.

Thanks for the replys, I have Samsung music and Poweramp installed and managed to get my songs on the phone but havent figured out how to get them in Poweramp or Samsung music. There in the internal music folder but dont see how to put them in the player unless I have to buy it first. . If poweramp is the majority used I can buy that for like $4.95 I can afford that. I`m on a limited plan so streaming music wouldnt be a good option.

Go into settings in Poweramp and select the library then set the source folder for your music.

I did what you suggested and all it found was 4 music videos that were in the picture gallery. Tried the full scan and rescan and music folders option and no songs just the 4 music videos from the gallery.

You must have set the source directory incorrectly if it's showing files from your picture gallery. Where are your music files? Are they in the internal memory or on an SD card.

Just make sure your library source is the same directory that your music resides in.

I have my music folders with songs in each one stored on the removeable memory card and then on the phones internal memory the same music folders are in the S8 Music Folder then again in the Playlist folder in the internal memory so its in 3 spots but doesnt find any but the videos. And in the Amp app in library folders section drop down tree if I select either internal memory and memory card it shows my muisc folders but doesnt transfer them on over to the app.

So, you have your music in 3 different locations on you phone.

Have you set all 3 when selecting the source? If so, try just selecting just one source. But I still think that your not selecting the source correctly because you wouldn't see the pictures folder if you had.

Only 4 or 5 music video in the picture folder it just pulled the music videos from it. The music is in 3 different spots in the internal and removable memory. When I select the folder from the memory card I can see it in a drop down tree where I see each music folder like AC/DC, Aerosmith and such. It doesnt make a difference which one I pick. Does it make a diference if some songs are MP$ and other Itunes format or if I have to be near an open internet connection?

I have tried selecting just one source and still no change.
It seems to be finding the music videos in the Phones picture gallery: Gallery. But not the MP3 and Itunes formatted songs.

How long is the Poweramp unlocker key good for? I dont want to lose the key, havent backed up my cell in a few days or so.

I feel like it's a week or two. I've had it since 2013 so it's been a minute.
