Music not available while charging

I use my Evo on my motorcycle for music, navigation, speedometer, etc but I have one problem. I have AMP music player for the the simple swipe controls but anytime I plug it into the USB cord on the bike the phone does not recognize any music on the SD card. I also have the same problem with certain apps that are located on the SD card. They don't work and the icon shows the Android robot instead of regular pic. Another problem is when I unplug the cord my phone will reboot. This is random but definitely annoying. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

From the Home Screen, press menu, go into settings. From there go into Applications and then development. Make sure USB Debugging is NOT checked. This would cause your SD card issue.

Settings, Connect to PC, Default Connection Type, make sure it's set to "Charge Only" When it's in "Disk Drive" mode, the memory card is not available.
