Music on HTC Car app

I've been using the Car app recently. It opens as soon as I place it in the HTC Car dock. Unfortunately (for me), as soon as the app opens, the Music app begins to play the tune that was last played on my phone. I haven't found a way to affect this. I most often listen to audiobooks (using Overdrive) while driving.

The Music player stubbornly starts to play when the Car app starts. I can stop (pause) the music, and start Overdrive. Occasionally, the Music app will reassert itself, even playing AT THE SAME TIME as the audiobook.

Any ideas on controlling this?

From the Car app, go to settings and uncheck Autoplay

Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure Autoplay was off.

I'll check next time I'm in the car, and get back to you.

I checked and Autoplay is off. But the Music player comes on anyway...

Damn. Thought this would be easy. I'll play around with mine and see if I can figure it out. You might want to try another app to use as your default car dock app. I'll let you know if I find anything.

I've continued to play with the Car app. Does it have its own Music player?

I've installed several different Music players as alternatives to the Google Music app. Nothing seems to affect the "autoplay" function when the Car app turns on.
