Music pauses after skipping on screen off

[Android Central Question]

Whenever screen is off and I double click my headphone's button to skip to the next song, it skips, plays for one second, and then stops the song. It works fine when the screen is on. This is happening with multiple music players. I am using a Moto g7 power, and my music players are removed from battery optimization. Thank you for your time.

How about the phone it's in any power saving mode?

Thank you! I use wired headphones, and I don't use battery saver, however adaptive battery is turned on, but I'm pretty sure adding the app to the exceptions list makes it ignore adaptive battery.

Adaptive battery can go into medium power save mode so try it in optimized see how it goes

What brand/model of headphones are you using? If they're "Made for iPhone," then try a different pair that is specifically compatible with Android.
