Music Player Automatically Starts with headphones in

So I'm listening to Pandora right now through speakers via the headphone jack. If I move the speaker plug around at the top of the phone or it gets bumped, the android music player automatically starts playing. It's annoying because if I move my phone listening to Pandora the music player starts up in the background with whatever song is first out of the songs on my SD card.

Anyone know what could be wrong or anyone else having this issue? Super annoying.

I have noticed this in my car with the audio line in. I was listening to Pandora and doubletwist started playing. Super annoying. Any thoughts?

Even if I stop the android player from playing, as soon as the cord moves it starts right back up again. Almost like there is a trigger to start the phones music player when a cord in pushed in.

Related problem. Use a dash mount with headphone jack line connecting to aux-in in the car. When using the media player, songs will sometimes sputter, sometimes skip to the next song, and today, the voice dialer app appeared out of nowhere. Something funky going on here.

Yeah i kept on getting this annoyances when plugging in to my aux-in. I ended up removing double twist but still get the sputtering at times. Hopefully somebody can find a workaround.

Yeah correction to mine, headphones seem to work fine, but the aux-in from my car did not, as well as a plug from speakers. Android player just starts...maybe the size of the rubber around the plug has an affect; maybe if the rubber around the plug is thicker it cant get all the way in headphones hole for full contact. (Insert thats what she said joke here)

Has anyone found a fix for this? I think I saw a thread where a different adapter was being used with 4 contacts instead of three. But it seems ridiculous to need a special adapter. That's the whole point of using a 3.5mm jack!

There has to be some setting or hack that will prevent the music app from opening when the headphones are connected. Anyone??

Its hard to have a software fix when its a hardware issue. :(

The only thing they could possibly fix software wise is give the option to completely disable voice commands when plugged in via headset.

Otherwise, its as you mentioned. My thread about the headset adapter :(

I wish there was a better answer, but its an answer at least.

Are the voice command and music player starting related? Somehow the system is programmed to open the music app (or voice command) when the right signal is seen on the port. I feel like this can be disabled somehow. How is the question. With webos, someone would just patch it.
