Good day, last device was a Blackberry Passport. Although it was lacking in the apps department, its music player allowed me to choose a specific decade or year and play locally stored music from that year/decade. Looks like Google Play, Samsung Music as well as Pulsar are missing this neat (to me) feature.

Anybody knows a player (preferably free) that would give me that option?

Thanks.

Thanks for your input but I want to play music from my SD card, not streaming.

Anyone? Hard to believe no Android music player has this option...

In PowerAmp you can sort by year. You then can add them to a playlist or queue. I don't see a way to tell it to play all the songs from the 80s though, if that is what you mean.

And of course the metadata must be correct.

Yes, that's what I meant, with all its shortcoming, BB10 music player could do this with a breeze. Can't believe it's so hard to find an equivalent on Android...

Thanks for your input.
