Music wont play through headphones?

Recently my Droid 3 won't play music through the headphones but plays through the speakers instead. I searched this problem, and the case does seem to be lint. How would I get it out? Or should I get it sent in? (I would like to keep it with me)

It's a common problem. It seems like it happens over time. Verizon will replace it with no questions asked except for your account info. If you have twitter you can talk to @vzwsupport and get a brand new phone in a couple of tweets.

I'm curious, what happens with the lint? On the D1 and 2 I know the Jack usually ended up dying due to the poor way it was connected to the motherboard.
