Must have apps for S3.....

Is there a reason to have/run "Task Manager" to verify that apps. are closed??

With Android you shouldn't need a task manager to close apps. That is even more true now than it used to be from what I've read. If you google it you will find a lot of articles that explain how Android manages memory and why task managers not only aren't necessary but may actually decrease battery life, etc.

First thing to do is download the old google search apk so you can get Universal Search back on the device. I can't operate without it. Here are others I use daily, may or may not be useful to you.

Brightness Disc (widget for adjusting screen brightness - auto brightness tends to use more power)
Amazon MP3
Kindle
Dolphin
Dropbox
Box
LinkedIn
WebEx
GasBuddy
NFL Mobile
GoogleTalk (great video calling)
Words with Friends
Touchdown HD (for corporate Msoft exchange email, contacts, calendar and tasks)

Check out these "must have apps for galaxy s3". This article has a very big list of good apps for s3 and it also includes list from xda-developers forum. My favorite is the "Astro File Manager".

Eh. It's the same stuff 9 billion other bloggers tell you about. Who on the planet hasn't heard of Kindle or Spotify by now? How about something really interesting. Two of my favorites - because I'm an electronics engineer - are Droid Tesla and iCircuit. Both are (fairly basic) Spice schematic capture and simulation apps, but they work really well. I like iCircuit a bit better, but I wisj it would save to cloud like Dropbox or something. Tesla saves to their servers but then your circuits are available to everyone, which kind of sucks. The thing that awes me is that what used to take me days on a DecCluster I can now do on my PHONE in a few minutes! Any other apps pushing the envelope out there?

Those that say a flashlight.......

That widget is a flashlight and a factory default widget.

I spend a lot of time on the road, so I like Trapster. The latest version has some nice features besides just pointing out where the speed traps are!
