Must have apps you have found...

Ok I know I've seen smarthings on my phone but have never used it. I have Alexa's everywhere but not a 100% sure about smartthings and how to set it up and what all it does. Guess I'll Google it and read up on it. I need to try the Ultimate Alexa app too someone mentioned.

It's just a smart home app. I mostly use mine to control my Lutron light switches. Like Alexa, it can connect to a lot of different devices (I have many connected to smart things and Alexa). I just don't use Alexa very often though as it's kind of loud to use. I can use smart things to control my home remotely as well. Not sure if there is a way to do that with Alexa.

Oh Ok we have Phillip Hue Lights and our Ecobee thermostat has Alexa Built in and yes she can be loud but their is a whisper feature you whisper she whispers back LOL! We have Simply Safe and our garage which Alexa doesn't do is called My Q. But thanks I may try smart things. We have some kind of hub but it's for our lights I believe.

Are you still liking the Alexa app? I'm getting ready to try it! I go to bed at night and before I plug in or just set my phone down on the night table I open the Phillip Hue app and turn off the lights. And then put my watch in bedtime mode and it would be nice to speak to the watch for stuff. One thing i wish was that you could make up your own wake word. I have echo right near by on a dot in one room our thermostat is Alexa and we just got the new latest Echo shows and mine has a new name Ziggy. But I would love to pick my own.

Oh yeah I think it's totally worth the $2. In fact, I just noticed that it lets you know when you have Alexa notifications. This is something the Alexa app for the old Tizen OS didn't do.
