My 3 month old note 8 has status bar burn in help please

Well if you're under 18 and your parents are responsible for your phone contract then I think it would be smart to discuss any move or decision with them first or you might end up in your room... grounded... with NO PHONE AT ALL

LOL.... best of luck

Samsung repair centres here in the UK are horrendous. I sent my sons brand new Galaxy J5 off to them because it kept freezing completely every 4 or 5 hours no matter what I tried (soft resets, hard reset, flashing new firmware etc) but they just sent it back saying they couldn't recreate the issue and they wouldn't be repairing it. Then my Galaxy S7 edge had a faulty screen so I sent that off, they replaced the screen but when I received it back the edges of the rear casing was lifting at the edges and you could slide your fingernail under it. I wasn't sure if this would affect it's water resistance and I wasn't willing to dunk it in a sink to find out so I sent that back again but once again they returned it to me saying it was fine and it had been repaired satisfactorily. Maybe to them yeah, but not to me when it was only weeks old

Have you tweeted all of the Samsung Twitter accounts? A few years ago, a Nokia repair center ruined one of my phones. Like you, I went through the right channels, but got nowhere fast. Someone suggested that I politely explain my situation on Twitter to all of Nokia's Twitter accounts. Within a few days, I was contacted by Nokia and a week or so after that, had a brand new device. I don't know if that will work, but if you have/can get Twitter, I'd give it a shot.

then how the hell could a bailiff take your parents stuff over your unpaid bill?
anyway, not surprising that Samsung support would say crap like that, they are thick as bricks

I phoned ee my service provider and told tme suck my nuts .im not paying my contract untill you help me .they said f u and hung up the phone lol no lie.so all i can do is just ignore my contract.and throw my note 8 in the trash or sell it and ripp someone off with my note 8 on ebay.i said when i dont pay my bills what will you do they said we will take your mum and dads stuff lolwhat assholes they threathen me with balif

EE won't do any of that mate. If you don't pay their bills they'll just pass on the total price of the contract for it's entire length plus fees to a debt collection agency and they'll chase you for the money instead. It's a crappy, frustrating situation I know but the only person that will suffer is you and they know that. I feel lucky that mine has zero light bleed now that I've read a few reports about it. Will a case or skin not cover the edges?

I dont use cases i know it may seem crazy but i hate cases and skins and that type of thing ive never used them i dont drop phones im obessisily careful.the samsung idiots said 100 percent of note 8s have light bleed lol they are calling me a liar.so i was imagining my perfect note 8 that had no light bleed .wtf samsung can suck my balls never ever will i buy a sammy product again.i hate apple and iphones aswell so im fuked now.im.back to using my trusty note 4 .it has no light bleed :)
As for my note 8 i put it in ebay for 830 pounds yesterday and it sold this morning.lets hope the buyer is blind and dosent mind having a cosmetically defective note 8

I noticed the service centre has put a **** ton of scratches on the back of the phone i just noticed as i was packing it away for my buyer.and they left a nasty graze in the metal frame that meet the back glass or a scuff is under the glass near the frame.the back is a mess.so disappointed with sam**** **** them

Re:

That is how i saw my burn in last week when that update came and the screen was bright blue .if i had not updated my phone i would not have noticed the burnt screen.but it would have got worse anyway
Jjost does your note 8 have ugly light leak or is is perfect like mine was?
I don't have a note 8. I have a note 5. My wife has a note 5 and she has burn in at the notification bar. I do not lol.

Sounds like you are getting rid of it, but just for future reference... if you actually were dealing with them the way you are talking about it, I'm not surprised you didn't get resolution. If I was dealing with a customer acting like you have here, I would have hung up on you to. Generally you get a lot further being calm, reasonable, and professional. I've had a few cases where I lost my cool too, and in none of them did I get the resolution I was after. Just a suggestion.

Well it looks like I'll be playing the Samsung repair lottery once again too. My N8 slid out my jacket pocket when I was feeding squirrels in the park with my young daughter. Those Squirrels are now on my hitlist.

Anyone have an idea how much Samsung charge for replacement here in the UK? I'm guessing £250-300?

Someone please show me an example of light bleed? This can't be the same as light bleed from an LCD because OLED screens don't have backlighting. Pixels on OLED are either on or off so I'm a little confused about this light leek issue?

It's a line of light leaking between the edge of the screen glass and the frame. There's quite a few examples on YouTube if you search for "Note 8 light leak"

Even I have it now but I'm putting that down to smashing the digitizer today because it definitely wasn't there before.

Ah ok. Looked it up on YouTube. So to me it looks like the black bezel on the outer glass was poorly painted and not necessarily "light bleed" due to a screen defect, makes more sense to me now. So it's more of an outer glass defect.

Yeah not light bleed in the true sense of the word with a blotchy lcd panel.

Yeah, there's something going on here that doesn't involve the phone.

:-(. Damn squirrels

Just happened to mine yesterday. To the genius people asking people take a screen shot of it just think about that question for a little bit. Brightness is just one potential cause but I use adaptive display and auto brightness so I think maybe it's the actual driver for the screen that is causing it to happen so soon. I'm getting a new phone sent so it all got worked out.
