My Android Tablet and VPN

I have an Android Tablet version 5.1.1 model no A10T Alldaymall. I installed VPN free from the playstore(which had worked perfectly well on my iPad, Android Box and another tablet.) Every time I switch it on to UK it blocks my internet connection. I have tried everything I can think of even a factory reset and still can't fix. Any ideas anyone.
