My android tablet is making a static noise every few seconds when I play audio.

Today i was watching some youtube, and my tablet was making a short static sound whilst there was audio playing every few seconds.
This does not happen when i wear headphones, so I believe the problem is the tablet's speaker itself. What can i do about it?

Can try safe mode and see if still happens

Also try playing media using the speaker eg a file on the tab that you know is free of interference

Welcome to Android Central! Does it only happen on YouTube, or with any media sound? If it's any sound, then one of the speakers might have blown.
