Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Chances are that there are no official updates beyond Gingerbread for your device. You'd have to do a search for how to root your particular phone, and how to flash a custom ROM of Jellybean (if available for that specific phone).

Look on Area51 Forum - that's probably your best bet for ROMs for phones of that age. (Don't get your hopes up, though. Most of them don't have the hardware capability of running Jellybean. Crawling it, maybe, but not running it. And if the phone is going to be that slow with that version, no one is going to bother to modify the ROM to run on that phone - no one would keep it for more than a few minutes.)
