AC Question

So I got my Note 4 a couple weeks ago (It was used but in very good condition) and i noticed that right off the bat, the battery would last 8-9 hours from 100%.
The Doze app don't work, clearing the cache partition don't work, Greenify is just useless IMO and when I tried, it didn't work.. in 1 hour, it would go from 100% to like 80% or a little lower just on standby!!!
In all seriousness, i don't understand the GSAM app but it has given me a list of apps and stuff that use battery if you need that screenshot.
I only have GSAM, Spotify, Unidays, Twitter and Snapchat on this phone so far and removed the SD card a few days ago.
I thought 8-9 hours was normal but reading other posts on here, it's meant to last a whole day with moderate to heavy usage! (I use between moderate and heavy on some days)
Battery is at 30 degrees celsius but goes up to 40 so the temperature is okay.
The only solutions i haven't tried that i can think of is a hard reset, calibration or change of battery.

Any advice is really appreciated.

OK thanks! I decided I'm taking it to a phone repair place sometime so they can just make sure that the battery is the problem because £25 for a battery isn't exactly a small donation and I'll come back with the update!

I got a new battery.. The guy said "Charge it to 100%, then restart the phone".. Did that

10 hours 36 minutes left on 100% on new battery

Ideas?

The estimated battery life is based on prior usage, and since your prior battery may have been deteriorating, this is probably an incorrect estimate. Use the phone normally, and see how long it really lasts.

If there's no hope, how long should I give it before I get a return on the phone ? (I installed the new battery about 8 hours ago from now)

The battery life hasn't changed from before but B Diddy said to give it time

I'll soon find out if my phone just switches off in a bit by itself

I used my Lem Samsung Note 4 battery that was provided by AT&T for about a year after about a year my battery started to hook the drain to 40% pretty often once my battery would reach 40% the phone would just suddenly die. I was looking online on amazon.com and found that the company Anker sells third-party batteries I purchased two of these that came in a pack of 2 and a wall charger together. These two batteries have been sufficient for me as one battery provides a full charge all day I only have to change the battery at night in the evening

Try the batteries on amazon.com sold by Anker they come in a set of 2 and a wall charger.

After about a year with having my Note 4 phone the OEM Samsung battery became faulty and found that these Anker batteries became a good

OK update, the battery drainer in my phone is "Android system"... What do I do here?

I looked into the Anker batteries too, like I said, I think it's something in the software that I'm missing

It'd be helpful to see those same screenshots that were requested earlier in this thread, as a comparison. Was the screen on for a long time while you were waiting for the battery to drain, or was it asleep for most of the time? What percentage of battery is Android System using? System is always going to use a decent amount of battery, but if it's upwards of 80-90%, then something is clearly not working right.

The android system has reached 50% before, and I don't know why the phone stayed awake last night? Drained it from 80% to 17% overnight

You need to post the "entire" first screen. All the stuff below is cut out... unless there's nothing else there. Scroll down and post all the apps being reported by battery usage, no matter how low the usage is. Just because an app reports very little usage doesn't mean it's not draining the battery through Android System/OS.

Secondly, start your phone in Safe mode and run it that way for a while. You mentioned that sitting on your desk for 10 minutes lost 5%... see what happens in safe mode for 30 minutes. To get into safe mode, press the power button like you want to turn off the phone. When the Phone options menu appears, "press and hold" Power off and select to turn on in safe mode. To get out of safe mode, simply restart the phone.

Safe mode, did not think of that!

Okay I'll post all of the first screen but it's on charge right now so I'll have to wait until it gets low on battery again.

What do I look out for in safe mode?
