Only had it a week but it's not any better then my S8+. Is it possible my S8 had some sort of virus that got copied onto my N9 with Smart Switch?

My phone has been off the Charger for less then 3 hours, SOT is 2 hours and I'm already down to 73%. Anyone else experiencing issues with battery life? I'm ready to return it, just got it last Friday. Guess I can go back to Best Buy and speak with the Samsung genius, smh. 4000mah battery and this is all I get, it's set to Optimized as far as performance mode goes. Maybe Its a defective battery?

Give it more time. Lithium ion batteries always have worse battery life initially until a certain amount of charges that activates all the chemistry completely. My Note 9 has great battery life but in its first week wasn't good either. This is all normal.

2 hours SOT with that % sounds about right. At that rate you'd be getting around 8-9 hours SOT.

Not always. My Note 9 battery has been stellar from day one.

Let your phone get use to how you use it and the Apps you have and your Battery Life Will get Better.... Uninstall Any Apps you don't use and Disable the ones you don't

There is nothing wrong with your battery. You were using it non-stop 2/3rds of the time.

That's a projected 7-8 hours of screen. That's far from "sucks"

What were you really expecting?

I think they expect the battery to never go down lol

And what exactly is that expectation? Admittingly, you had 2 hours SOT with the device being off charge for 3 hours w/73% left. We're you watching a movie? GPS? What you were doing for those two hours of SOT makes a huge difference. Saying you expect better batt life than your S8+ means nothing. I think the title of your thread is unfair in relation to what you stated as an issue.

No streaming, just my usual, email, Facebook, text and a few phone calls. The S8 battery life went down over the last 1.5yrs like all cell batterys do. However I expected this new N9 with its huge battery to outperform a 1.5yr old device, rightfully so!

Set all the apps that you don't use often to always sleeping.

Sorry been off of here for a few days. Heres the screenshot, mind you I constantly close all apps and Performance Mode is on Optimized. I'm not impressed with the battery life, at least not yet, it's now 9 days old

How credible do you think the rumours are that the graphene cathode lithium ion batteries will be produced next year? This is a little bit like the rumored in display fingerprint sensor. Originally the S8, then Note 8, then S9, then Note 9 and finally the S10 will get it.

Original rumours were S10 and now it's Note 10. This would be a significant battery improvement. 5 times faster recharging (15 - 20 mins), more capacity for the same size battery, higher operating temperatures (up to 60 degrees) and increased life cycles.

But the BIG ONE is 5 times faster charging, a crazy 12 to 15 mins for an average size battery. Does anyone believe the Note 10 will feature this?

This is the only feature that would seriously tempt me to upgrade my Note 9 after only 1 year of ownership.

I completely agree. It is inconsistent and the phone gets hot and drains. For no reason sometimes. I've tried so many things and whether its samsung tech support or AT&T they are clueless as it gets. I see folks getting nearly 2 days battery life and im lucky if i get a day out of my note 9.

I’ve not experienced this with my N9, but have in the past on occasion with other devices. What I’ve usually found to be the cause has been syncing issues. This results in heavy processor use and excessive battery drain. Have you checked your backup syncing and mail accounts to see if they’re responsible for your issues?
